Shanghai is recognised as the most up and coming fashionable and innovative part of china. The city has seen the rebirth of its arts and entertainment scene, and offers the tourist a great mix of entertainment. The Shanghai Museum, which is near the Peoples Square, is definitely the most popular museum in Shanghai. This Museum was designed to look like a Chinese vessel, and its exterior is a real showpiece. Ancient artefacts and archaeological finds are all located here with Chinese and English explanations. The Natural History Museum has some great Dinosaur bones, as well as some pickled human remains that will shock you. Maybe more shocking is the Chinese Ancient Sex Culture exhibition, where you will learn a thing or two about the facts of life. The history of sex in China is well exhibited here and is a real eye- opener. Galleries around the city show both traditional Chinese works as well as some great contemporary works. To see the works from Chinese artists, call in to the Shang Art, which has lots of exhibitions on display. The Shanghai of fine Art displays the works from the local up and coming students. The Chang An Gallery will have on display some traditional Chinese paintings. |
